Today the receipt was signed, and the car changed owners, but it’s still at the dealer being inspected...
and having the “stinger” and “gt” badges removed....
Unless the tractor trailer taking it to my apartment(again, plates not here yet!) crashes, I’ll be able to answer any questions about the interior this afternoon.

Can I have the Stinger and GT badges?

Will you replace badges with the korean badges?

You bought a Stinger?

Cheap and nasty inside or fairly decent but not premium quality

The car’s fiscal status is very hard to describe. Basically, I paid for a bunch of it and my parents paid for another bunch of it, so in the end it’s going to be my daily car but if either of them wants to use it periodically they could very reasonably ask for it. I’ve been working for four years, ever since being sixteen (half time and other side gigs) in order to afford being able to pay a bunch.

No, I’ll just be keeping the Kia badges, stinger and gt begone!

My sister wants the GT one, but surely by all means have the stinger badge

Very nice! I love driving them for work. GT or GT2? AWD?

A quick vin decoding shows its a “gt2" with rwd. But here it’s simply sold as the stinger gt

When you have hands on it, post a few pics. I’ve always thought the Optima to have a very nice interior for the price point, and hope that the Stinger surpasses it. Does it have the trick drivers seat that moves back when the car turns off?

I don’t think it feels any nicer than the optima.
It feels as nice as my friend’s passat CC, except for the microfiber suade headliner, which is awesome.
About the seat, I don’t know... But I hope so! My driving position is so awkward that I need the added space for my 188cm frame.
Mywk2 and my mom’s gmt900 have it, It’s a common feature nowadays.

Certainly the latter.

So are you taking off the Kia badge too?

it’s not hard to describe. Your parents paid for the car with some contribution from you because you “worked hard” for 4 and a half years. Not to sound condescending, but they probably own the car more than you do. lol.
Must be nice.

No.. those stay.
I can appreciate how the Korean version looks with the “stinger” in spaced letters. but I wouldn’t have it, not my style.

Taking the KIA badges off might actually slow down the depreciation of the car. Your parents will be happy that their investment lasted a bit longer financially. j/k.

I kept my mouth shut about it because I know how you guys feel about young guys in expensive cars.
I own something like half of the car, but they pay for road tax and insurance until I find a job in my actual field in a couple of years when I’m allowed to work as a technician, then an engineer.
And here in Mexico interns actually do a lot of heavy lifting and we are paid about 50% of a normal salary, we need to have work experience to graduate and register with our professional number (cedula profesional). Ill probably start working in a couple of semesters. If you have good grades teachers actually recomend you to the companies (Given I have a former gm engineer as a teacher I am keen on leaving a good impression!).
I work every afternoon and most saturdays with a construction company. I research the providers and help audit the building with the acountant, this latest building I helped design the floor space division with the architect and the structural engineer as they thought I had a good idea for it.
Considering its 4500 dollars per year plus commision because I often show clients around the building given my alternative schedule adjusted great with their visiting hours.
It isnt condecending, again, its understandable that you think that way. And I do love the support my parents give me, I wont deny they are basically saints and it is pretty nice.

Cars have a fixed depreciation curve here, when it becomes 7 years old it turns basically worthless due to the emissions tags

1) it’s not an expensive car.
2) I know how internships work. I was one 15 years ago. My wife is doing one getting paid $15/ hr. it’s an internship.
My only “real beef” was with the fact that you uttered the words: “if either of them wants to use it periodically they could very reasonably ask for it.”.
Anyways, good luck with your career and hope you progress it to the best of your abilities.

Thank you!
It was expensive for us, I can tell you that

I only have a beef with young guys in expensive cars if they try to pass it off as self-made and attempt to hide the fact that it’s really daddy’s car.
Then I have more beef when they drive it around recklessly and telling people on IG that they’re the Ish, bro.
In your case you’re completely honest with your car so that’s great. Enjoy!

Big fan of debadging ... eager to get your impression of the car.

Oh wow okay. Here we’ve got the GT, GT1 and GT2. GT just gets you the sporty bits like Brembos and the twin turbo V6. GT2 gets you the non traditional shifter, cooled seats, a HUD, all the driving assists, etc.
I really am impressed by them!
